Everything is picked early and handled carefully. The vines are old though not as old as some of the domaines vines and craggy. The wine smells of dark fruit, blackcurrant, smoky soil, blackberries, licorice. The palate is intensely black fruited with hints of orange oil and tarry earth. It is full but not heavy, dense but not stodgy.
