When painting she prefers to make her own stretchers and stretch her own canvas when working on larger paintings. When making furniture, Beth likes to use cherry, walnut, ash, or some of the local wood found in Southeast Alaska, such as Alaska yellow cedar, Sitka spruce, and red alder. She also incorporates metal
